The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) offers a new online learning platform, ADeL (Anti-Doping eLearning), which will centralize all WADA's online courses and learning resources.
ADeL will initially contain the following five courses, which are aimed at the main target groups:
- Health and Anti-Doping Learning Program for Athletes
- Franc Jeu Coaches
- Sports doctor's case
- ADO Kickstart (for administrators and new employees of ADOs)
- Guide for parents
The advantages of ADeL for users are numerous; In particular, the platform allows access to all online anti-doping learning resources from a single account. It is personalized for each user, which guarantees an experience adapted to the particular needs of each one. In addition, ADeL can be accessed in various formats and on different devices, including phones and tablets. Users will also be able to demonstrate the skills they have acquired by taking a test for each course in order to obtain a certificate.
ADeL's benefits for ADOs include a user management feature that will allow National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs) and International Federations to track and manage users in their region. An advanced translation tool has also been created and integrated into ADeL to allow partners to view the content in their own language. Initially, the resources will be searchable in five languages, and seven more will be added later.
WADA Deputy Director General and Director of Education, Rob Koehler, said: “This is a big step forward for anti-doping education. The ADeL platform will improve the user experience for athletes, coaches and other target groups who wish to improve their knowledge of anti-doping rules and will also allow them to familiarize themselves with the concepts of anti-doping and clean sport. "
“Thanks, in particular, to the translation tool, this platform is also a game-changer for many ADOs, who previously could not afford to create their own online learning resources. ADeL is not designed to replace in-person training. It will nevertheless allow ADOs to immediately sensitize a much higher proportion of their target groups and measure the impact of their programs. "
To obtain administrator rights and learn more about the translation process, partners should contact WADA at adel@wada-ama.org.
