Speakers from the sports world

         The college reform applied in Monaco from the start of the 2016 school year made it possible to set up 5rd, 4rd and 3rd Interdisciplinary Practical Education (EPI). This educational method, which mobilizes several disciplines, is based on a project approach and leads to its concrete realization by the students individually or collectively.

        In this general framework, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee and the Directorate of National Education, Youth and Sports have come together at the initiative of the Principal Deputy of Charles III College to create in this establishment a PPE module dedicated to the fight against addictions and doping, intended, initially, for pupils of certain classes of 5 rd  of this establishment.

The pilot of this module, composed of two parts, took shape from June 19 to 23, 2017.

* As a first step, specific educational content was provided as part of the Life and Earth Sciences teaching program during courses given on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 June 2017;

* Secondly, sessions of physical and sports education dedicated to Badminton on Thursday 22 June and Volleyball on Friday 23 June, made it possible to alternate sports sequences and short illustrated interventions or animated films relating to the fight against doping in sport by involving the managers of Monegasque clubs and federations in the two disciplines concerned.

These interventions were provided by Mr. Philippe Orengo, State Councilor, President of the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee, Dr. Muriel Tonelli, head of the Committee's Training-Prevention-Education Commission, Ms. Sylvie Bertrand, President of the Monegasque Federation of Badminton and Club Badminton Monaco, and Mr. Christian Palmaro, President of the Monegasque Volleyball Federation.

A great success with the students

Patrice Cellario, Government Counselor-Minister of the Interior, and Ms. Isabelle Bonnal Director of National Education, Youth and Sports, honored the closure of the module with their presence on June 23, 2017 and, in view of the '' interest aroused among students and teachers, favorably consider extending this module to all classes of 5rd schools in the Principality and other classes in cycle 4.
