The physical education and sports team of the College Charles III of Monaco wished to join in the Respect Day, initiative of Jacques Remond, honorary journalist of Nice Matin, having set itself the object, since 1994, to transmit , mainly to young people, the values of respect, citizenship and a sense of responsibility. Through its presence, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee fully supports this initiative.
Founding values
The Solidarsport association created in May 1994 at the initiative of Jacques Remond, honorary journalist from Nice Matin, has set itself the goal, in particular, of transmitting, mainly to young people, the values of respect, citizenship and the sense of responsibilities, constituting the foundations of our company by the organization of sporting and cultural events, by publications, exhibitions, conferences and courses, and by any other means allowing to achieve this objective.
It articulates its action on the basis of the seven values contained in its Charter of Respect: respect for others; Self respect ; The respect of the rules ; respect the environment ; respect for the word given; respect of a commitment; respect for our duties as citizens; respect for life.
In this context, the physical education and sports team of the Charles III College in Monaco once again wanted to join this action. To this end, it organized on May 15, 2018 at the Moneghetti stadium a Day of Solidarity and Respect for the 14 classes of 4th using rugby as a support.
This year, for the first time, in the wake of its close cooperation with the Principality's Directorate of National Education, Youth and Sports, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee joined in this event which involved 300 students. supervised by 7 teachers and a nurse in order to confront them with the values conveyed by rugby: team spirit, respect, individual courage, solidarity, tactical intelligence, taking initiative, conviviality .

A deep commitment


Among the various workshops offered to students, was a workshop led by the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee, represented by the head of its Training, Prevention, Education Commission, Dr. Muriel Tonelli, the Committee's permanent secretary, Ms. Andre Alessio, and her new project manager, Mr. Jérémy Bottin, Olympian, former top athlete.
During this workshop, each time bringing together around twenty students, the children were offered multiple choice questions based on the Quiz Play True Generation of the World Anti-Doping Agency, the groups being scored equally on their answers. questions and team spirit during an exchange on cooperation, listening and respect between teammates.
The Committee also participated in the award ceremony by offering each winning team a pocket with a USB key, a bicolour pen and the Freesbee with the Committee's logo as well as the anti-doping comic published by UNESCO.
Very happy to have participated in this day of sharing and education where the students were able to see concretely what the values of self-sacrifice, giving to others, respect, altruism, solidarity, commitment to the effort, of fair play, he looks forward to next year to renew his participation alongside motivated and persuasive educators who have been able to send a strong message: respect is one of the pillars of a life harmonious in society.
