WADA launches consultation process on recommendations of Agency Working Group on Laboratory Accreditation

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) launches and invites you to participate in a process of consultation with its partners on the recommendations proposed by the WADA Working Group on Laboratory Accreditation.

On November 20, 2016, the Foundation Board of WADA agreed that an ad-hoc working group should be established to undertake a review of the current laboratory accreditation system. The working group is made up of the following people:

  • Chairman of the working group, Ugur Erdener (Chairman, WADA Health, Medicine and Research Committee)
  • Christiane Ayotte (President, World Association of Anti-Doping Scientists, WAADS)
  • John Miller (Past President, WADA Laboratory Expert Panel)
  • Richard Young (independent lawyer)
  • Peter Van Eenoo (laboratory director, Ghent, Belgium and former president, WAADS)

A preliminary report of this working group was presented to the WADA Foundation Board in May 2017, and it was suggested that the opportunity be given to the anti-doping community to consider the proposed recommendations given the potential changes that could affect them. It is expected that the final recommendation of the Working Group will be presented at the Foundation Board meeting on November 16, 2017.
