As the health context was an obstacle to the holding of the traditional International Princess Grace Gymnastics Gala, the Monegasque Gymnastics Federation chaired by Ms. Bétarice Fresko-Rollo organized on Sunday November 28, 2021 in Room 2 of Princess Stéphanie Gymnastics a demonstration of high stolen.
In the presence of HSH the Sovereign Prince accompanied by LL.AA.SS. Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, and Mr. Morinari Watanabé, IOC member recently re-elected to the Presidency of the World Gymnastics Federation, and under the watchful eyes of their coaches, 25 gymnasts celebrated with talent this sport in all its disciplines: artistic gymnastics for women and men, rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics.
For an hour, the gymnasts followed one another, showing appreciation for the many physical and mental qualities required for the practice of these complete disciplines: agility, flexibility, coordination, balance, strength, concentration, rigor, courage, patience, surpassing oneself ..., their mastery of apparatus, aesthetics, choreography… in short, “an hour of poetry” during which, as Henri de Montherlant thought in Les Olympiques, the gymnasts “could grace because they had the strength”.
The Chairman of the Committee could only share this thought with the other guests at this event which once again showed, to quote Jean Giraudoux, that sport is an art by which human beings liberate themselves.
