The CMA visits second-year students

With the assistance of the Department of National Education, Youth and Sports, six conferences, each lasting two hours, were held for all students enrolled in the second year of secondary school in schools in the Principality of Monaco, i.e. 429 students.

The Monaco Anti-Doping Committee and the doctors from the Sports Medicine Centre addressed doping from different angles. Their presentation was not limited to medical or health issues, but also covered the psychological, sociological, philosophical and legal aspects of doping and its consequences. The main topics discussed were the types of anti-doping rule violations, sanctions, the conduct of a test, but also the risk with medications, supplements and prohibited substances. The committee also presented their new tool: the application CMA MED, the latter, very well received by students, is an intuitive application which allows you to scan medications in order to know if they are authorized or not.

Students from the principality were invited to participate and answer some questions about doping in groups. At the end of each conference, a debate time was set aside for discussions allowing students and their teachers to engage in dialogue with the speakers.
