The Monaco Anti-Doping Committee recently hosted an anti-doping education session in collaboration with the AS Monaco Football Academy, to raise awareness among young players in the U17, U19 and elite groups about the dangers and consequences of doping. The aim was to inform these future professionals about prohibited substances, the rules in force and potential sanctions. During this session, we discussed the principles and values of clean sport, the health risks associated with doping, the strict liability of athletes for what they consume and the doping control procedures. We also explained the importance of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) for players with specific medical needs. Through discussions and concrete examples concerning their sport, young footballers and all the professionals around them were able to measure the impact of doping on their career and health.
