Prevention and clean sport: CMA intervention at AS Monaco Rugby

On August 19, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee held an anti-doping education session with AS Monaco Rugby, which will be playing in the Federal 2 division this year.

This meeting helped to strengthen the knowledge of already aware players and to provide new members with essential benchmarks to progress in compliance with the rules.

The discussions focused on:

  • the various anti-doping rule violations and associated sanctions,
    • the risks associated with food supplements,
    • accidental doping related to medication
    • cannabis,
  • the course of an anti-doping test, to better understand its stages,
  • the objective liability of athletes,
  • health and sporting integrity.

Participants also discovered the CMA MED application, a practical tool for quickly checking whether a medication is authorized or not.

With this intervention, the CMA confirms its commitment to athletes in the Principality, by prioritizing prevention, accountability and the promotion of clean sport.

Finally, the CMA would like to thank the rugby players of the principality for their availability and the marked interest they showed throughout this session.
