Submission of the first annual report of the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee

After its transformation from 1er January 2015 in a private law body with a mission of general interest, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee handed over on June 16, 2016 to Mr. Patrice Cellario, representing HE Mr. Serge Telle, Minister of State, its annual activity report.

For a sport with integrity

Following in the wake of HSH the Sovereign Prince's desire for clean, fair, equitable and honest sport, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Philippe Orengo, underlined the salient points of this comprehensive 85-page document, further recalling the three priorities of the action of this structure: information and prevention; research, establishment and sanctioning of doping incidents, and the implementation of the Principality's international commitments in the fight against doping.

The Government Counselor-Minister of the Interior, for his part, underlined the Principality's long-standing commitment to the fight against doping, underlined the support given to the Committee while respecting its operational independence and reaffirmed the determination of the State to fully play its role of regulator to fight against this complex scourge, which will be taken into account in the framework of the future law on sport.

Engaged in a collective work, the Princely Government and the Committee were able to share reasons of satisfaction which contrast with current events: in particular, the success of the policy of dissuasion since, despite their proliferation, the controls of high-level athletes do not have not given rise to the initiation of disciplinary proceedings; the observation by the World Anti-Doping Agency of the conformity of Monegasque policy with the principles and rules of the World Anti-Doping Code; compliance with the international commitments entered into by the Principality within the framework of UNESCO and Council of Europe conventions in the fight against doping.

The partnership between the State and the Committee, the exemplary nature of which has been emphasized, can only encourage all those involved in sport in the Principality to continue their efforts in this direction so that in this field too, Monaco is a special place in the world. world.
