WADA Symposium for Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs)

As every year, a delegation from Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee participated in the 12th edition of the WADA Annual Symposium for Anti-Doping Organizations, which took place in Lausanne from March 14-16, 2015 and whose theme was "Together towards quality".
At these meetings, which brought together some 500 participants from all over the world, WADA was keen to focus on clean athletes and how the anti-doping community can protect their right to doping-free sport.
Mr Frédéric DONZE, Director of WADA's European Regional Office and Relations with International Federations, recalled the central role of the Symposium which provides all participants with “the ideal opportunity to meet under one roof and discuss recent developments, to discuss the challenges and opportunities that arise, to share their best practices and, in general, to take stock of their common approach aimed at protecting clean sport all over the world. "
Sir Craig REEDIE, President of WADA, in his opening speech referred to events shaking sport to remind the anti-doping community of the need to "restore public confidence and restore sport to its credibility ”.

The Director General of WADA, Mr. David HOWMAN, for his part, took stock of the strategies put in place while Mr. Sébastien COE, new President of the IAAF, presented his vision of the fight against doping and affirmed his goal. to eradicate cheating in sport.
Each theme gave rise to specific interventions followed by round tables. The implementation of the new 2015 code and the priorities of the anti-doping community for 2016 were thus discussed, various experiences of applying the code were shared, the process of conducting national policies compatibility with the code was presented, and the new guidelines were discussed. concerning the organization of major sporting events, the preparation for the Olympic Games in Rio and the arrangements for ensuring overall coordination to guarantee the regularity and cleanliness of major events.
The Symposium is the perfect opportunity to come together under one roof and discuss recent developments, exchange views on challenges and opportunities that arise, share their best practices and, in general, to share update on their common approach to protect clean sport around the world.
