Monegasque Anti-doping Committee at the 43rd edition of the Monaco Criterium- Paco Alonso Trophy

The 43rd edition of the Monaco Cycling Criterium – Paco Alonso Trophy was attended by the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee and organized by the Monegasque Cycling Federation on Sunday 26 March, Port Hercule of Monaco.

As part of a cooperation initiated with the Monegasque Cycling Federation, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee inaugurated its new media of communication in the event venue. With the presence of the President, the exhibition stand held by Ms. Alessio, Permanent Secretary, Dr. Tonelli, coordinator of the Committee on Training, Prevention and Education and Ms. Vernay, doping control officer, and set up in front of the multifaceted visual made it possible to arouse the curiosity from the public, including visitors from Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK, and allowed the Committee to make useful contacts with the Italian association VOL.A. Volontari Antidoping “Stefania Belmondo”, to find anti-doping specialists, including Professor Mike MacNamee from Swansea University, Wales, and editor of the international journal Sport, Ethics and Philosophy. He also attended the award and medal ceremony and provided the winner with a gift bearing the Committee logo and with the UNESCO booklet about doping in sport.

In sport facilities of the Rainier III Outdoor Swimming Stadium kindly made available by Municipal Sports and Sporting Establishments Office, doping controls were performed by drawing lots on cyclists who participated in the race (all categories) that ended this really nice day.
